The world stainless association has released figures for the first three months of 2024 showing that stainless steel melt shop production has increased by 5.5% year-on-year to 14.6 million metric tons.
In Europe, the production decreased by 4.8%. USA and China registered a growth of 6.5% and 2.1%, respectively. Other Asian countries and other parts of the world combined registered an increase of 12.9% and 25.0% in steel production.
