Work starts on Baosteel’s steel-making plant

Work on the steel-making plant of Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. on the Dongshan Island, Zhanjiang, has started. It is scheduled to build three sets of converters with 350 tons, five sets of refining equipment outside the furnace, three sets of main facilities for stirring, and desulphurisation and its auxiliary facilities. The entire steel-making plant will be integrated by Baosteel independently. The Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group is in charge of integration of steel-making plant independently. It upholds the ideology of “simplified, high efficient, low cost”, and aims to meet production requirements of environmental protection, energy saving and clean energy.

It takes full advantages of Baosteel’s successful experience accumulated over past 30 years in the process of construction from introduction, digestion, absorption, innovation and reforger, the equipment and technology reaches advanced level in many aspects. The first and second converters are expected to be completed by the end of December 2015, and the third converter at the end of September 2016.

The project team of Zhanjiang steel-making plant sis working closely with the working staff to push forward the construction of steel-making project in modes of continuous, orderly, high efficient way to make sure that steel-making plant is completed within the time schedule.
