Winners of Offshore Safety Awards declared

Offshore Safety Awards organizers have recently announced the winners of the six safety awards categories. The event, which took place at the AECC, was jointly organised by Oil & Gas UK and Step Change in Safety in order to celebrate, share and learn from the companies and individuals who are practicing safety offshore and onshore in innovative and inspiring ways.

The winners of this year’s categories were: Award for Safety Leadership was won by Derek Ellington, Operations Manager (Heather), EnQuest, Award Safety Representative of the Year was won by Dave Thomson, Offshore Inspection Engineer / Elected Safety Representative, CAN Group, Award for Innovation in Safety was won by Baker Hughes, Award for Workforce Engagement was won by Allan Smillie, Telecoms Technical Authority, Safety Rep, TAQA, Award for Occupational Health was won by Occupational Health Centre, Stork and Award for Sharing and Learning was won by HeliOffshore.

Les Linklater, Executive Director of Oil & Gas UK, added: “All our finalists and winners are to be congratulated for playing their part to ensure that we continue make improvements in our safety performance as an industry. “
