Wendell L. Carter appointed AIST President

Wendell L. Carter, vice president and general manager, ArcelorMittal Indiana Harbor, East Chicago, Ind., USA, has recently been appointed president of the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) for 2016–2017. Wendell succeeds George J. Koenig, director —; global business and technology development, Iron & Steel, Hatch Associates Inc., Pittsburgh, Pa., USA.
In regards to his appointment, Mr. Carter said, “I am humbled and it is an honor to serve in this role. I look forward to working with colleagues in the industry on ways to stimulate membership to strengthen the association for years to come.â€? AIST also announced its new executive committee and board of directors during AISTech 2016, the organization’s annual conference and exposition, which was held in Pittsburgh, Pa., USA.
