Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) of Korea, the leading international shipbuilding company, has conferred its ‘Excellent Partner 2013’ award on Wärtsilä. The award recognises excellent performance in delivering high quality products and solutions on time, with complementary world-class engineering, documentation, project management and commissioning services, as well as for providing support throughout the projects.
In deciding the winner of this award, the purchasing team at SHI took into consideration companies that had supplied or co-operated with SHI during the period ranging from the beginning of July 2012 to the end of March 2013. During this time frame, Wärtsilä had worked closely with SHI on various projects including the supply of equipment for a Floating Storage Unit and several drillship projects. The award recognized Wärtsilä’s assistance, support and level of response during these projects, the positive feedback from different SHI departments, in particular the Quality Department, and the excellent business attitude shown by Wärtsilä in its dealings with the company.
J.H. Lee, General Manager, W.Y. Park, Senior Manager, and H.S. Min, Manager at SHI Purchasing complimented Wärtsilä and its employees on the level of service it is capable of providing, and congratulated the company and its employees for its achievements that led to this award. “This is an award for which we can take special pride.
