Valve provides storm relief

Arc Energy Resources, a specialist in fabrication and weld overlay cladding, has helped with the design for manufacture and production of a unique combined sewer overflow unit (CSO) for Hydro International. Hydro’s new Hydro-Jet™ Screen range – essentially a combined sewer relief valve that requires no power, has no moving parts, and is self-cleansing – is designed to ensure that solid matter in sewers throughout the UK and Europe cannot reach rivers and water courses during storm conditions. Arc Energy has pre-fabricated ten Hydro-Jet™ Screen units to date with capacities from fifteen to 400 litres per second and up to nine metres long. Each unit is manufactured as a complete package in 304 stainless steel to a bespoke design to suit the pipework and ground levels of specific sewer installations.
