Vacmetal and Tetronics have formed a new partnership to jointly market and supply Tetronics’ Twin Torch tundish plasma heating technology. The venture will utilise Vacmetal’s experience as a major capital plant designer and supplier, together with the advanced plasma system know-how and design experience of Tetronics. The two companies will combine to provide a total package offering design, supply, installation, commissioning and support services.
Vacmetal (UK) Ltd was formed in 1972 and is jointly owned by Corus, Europe’s leading steelmaker, and SMS-Demag. The company was founded to design, supply and install large-scale plant for the vacuum treatment of steel. Additionally it has developed a wide experience of heating systems, materials handling, powder technology and control systems. Tetronics Ltd was founded in 1964 and is specialises in the design and supply of high temperature DC plasma heating systems and its applications to industry.
