USD 7 billion gas, power project

Chevron Corp. will likely reach an agreement with state-run PetroVietnam by late September to jointly finance and build a USD 7 billion project in Vietnam. The companies will build a 400km gas pipeline and three gas-fired power plants, scheduled to start operating in 2015. PetroVietnam will likely invest USD 3 billion in the project, Chevron will contribute USD 2 billion, and other foreign investors will make up the remaining USD 2 billion.
