USA: steam generators

Westinghouse Electric Co. has won a contract for the design and manufacture of replacement steam generators (RSGs) for Tennessee Valley Authority’s Sequoyah Unit 2 located in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee. Design, project management, and quality assurance work for the RSGs will take place at Westinghouse facilities in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Madison, Pennsylvania. Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. Ltd of Korea will manufacture the four replacement steam generators as a subcontractor to Westinghouse. Expected delivery of the steam generators to the 2320 Mwe, Westinghouse-designed plant is November 2010, with installation scheduled for spring 2012.
