Norfolk may be getting the 54mi natural gas pipeline that developers said the city needed a year ago when plans for a USD 40 million soybean plant were scrapped. Nebraska Resources Co. plans to build the pipeline and Aquila has agreed to ship gas through it to serve customers in Norfolk. The planned pipeline would be an extension of a new, 140mi pipeline that Nebraska Resources Co. plans to build from Clay Center to Columbus. The total cost of the entire pipeline is expected to be USD 85 million to USD 100 million. It could be completed in mid-2010.
