USA: gasification in Louisiana

Aker Kvaerner ASA, along with Japan’s Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI), has been awarded a USD 500 million contract from Sempra Energy to engineer, procure and construct the Cameron LNG re-gasification terminal in Louisiana, USA. The project will run for three and a half years until the operation start-up in 2008. Engineering will take place primarily in Houston. The Cameron development is the first new onshore LNG terminal that has been granted a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission permit in the USA in over 20 years, Aker Kvaerner said. The facility will process 1.5 billion cubic feet of gas per day when it is complete.
