USA: desulphurization unit

Flint Hills Resources LP, Wichita, Kansas, plans to add a diesel desulphurization unit and a sulphur recovery unit to its 56-year-old West Plant, part of the company’s 300,000b/d Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery complex. The sulphur recovery unit will enable the refinery to process additional feedstocks, including heavier and sour crudes, the company said. Construction on the USD 250 million project likely will begin this fall and is expected to take 18 months to complete.
