USA: coal-fired power plant

International Power and South Texas Electric Co-op (STEC) have selected the joint venture team of Burns & McDonnell, Zachry Industrial and Mitsubishi Power Systems to design and build the 650MW Coleto Creek Unit 2 coal-fired power plant in Texas. The joint venture team will be responsible for engineering design, procurement of equipment and materials and construction of the facility. Coleto Creek 2 will be jointly owned and operated by International Power and STEC. Construction on the USD 1.4 billion ultrasupercritical unit is expected to begin in 2011.
