Upgrade at Arkansas nuclear plant

Entergy plans to replace ANO-1’s steam generators and reactor vessel head during a refuelling outage in autumn 2005. The contract for both projects, estimated at about USD 235 million, is still being negotiated, said Entergy Nuclear spokesman Phil Fisher. Entergy expects to build on knowledge it gained recently by replacing steam generators replacements at the Arkansas plant’s Unit 2 in 2000.
