Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc.âs chairman, president and CEO, Dennis M. Oates, has been named the Stainless Steel Executive of 2018 at the 17th Annual Stainless & Special Steel Conference in Helsinki, Finland, which took place on September 18th to 20th.
The award recognizes industry professionals who have made significant contributions to the growth and prosperity of the stainless and specialty steel industry, and was sponsored by Metal Bulletin and Steel & Metals Market Research (SMR).

Oates has been working in the industry for more than 40 years, and has held leadership roles at companies such as Lukens Steel, Connell LP, TW Metals, Carpenter Technology, and now Universal Stainless.

Since Mr. Oates joined Universal Stainless 10 years ago, the company has invested in new technology to improve operations and significantly expand the companyâs product portfolio to include more re-melted and finished products and vacuum induction melted premium products, including nickel and alloys.
