Universal Stainless achieves AS 9100 certification

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products Inc. has achieved AS 9100 certification at both its primary Bridgeville facility (Pennsylvania, USA) and its Dunkirk Specialty Steel mill (New York). Both locations have completed the AS 9100 Certification audit, successfully meeting all requirements. The company’s Titusville facility has held the AS 9100 certification since 2005. AS 9100 is a quality management system for the aerospace industry based on ISO 9001:2000 supplemented by additional requirements established by the aerospace industry to satisfy DOD, NASA and FAA quality requirements. The development of the supplemental requirements was the result of an international effort by aerospace companies with a common goal of establishing a single quality management system for use within the aerospace industry. AS 9100 is a product of this international effort.
