Ukraine: PVC plant

Lukoil Chemical Group has awarded Uhde the follow-up contract for a new polyvinyl chloride plant in the Ukraine. The plant, which will have a capacity of 300,000tpy of suspension PVC (S-PVC), will be constructed by Karpatnaftochim, an Ukrainian subsidiary of Lukoil, in Kalush, some 500km SW of Kiev. The Lukoil Chemical Group, part of the Russian mineral oil group Lukoil, is investing some USD 200 million to add PVC to its range of products. Uhde’s scope of services will include the basic and detail engineering, supply of the equipment, supervision of construction and commissioning and training of customer’s personnel. The new plant is scheduled to go on stream in early 2009.
