UK Steel has appointed Gareth Stace as its new director, replacing Ian Rodgers who retires on 31 March.
Gareth is currently the head of Climate & Environment Policy at EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, where he leads EEF’s work on a broad range of energy and environment policies, from compliance through to competitiveness.
Gareth has more than 15 years’ experience representing business interests and has had significant success in shaping and influencing policy at UK, European and regulator level. He currently represents EEF on a number of government boards and panels, including the chair of the Manufacturers’ Climate Change Group, Defra Business Contact Group and the Environment Agency Regulated Business Forum. He also represents the interests of the UK steel sector as chair of the BIS Green Economy Council EII Sub Group.
