The Tube & Pipe Association has launched TubeU, its new “on-line universityâ€? for training in tube and pipe producing and fabricating. The initial course offering, Fundamentals of Tube Mill Operation, delivers comprehensive instruction in the basics of tube production. TPA created TubeU in response to the industry’s growing interest in distance learning as a work force training alternative. Participants log on to TubeU’s website and work through course modules at their convenience, taking up to six weeks to complete a course. Graduates receive a certificate of completion. Programme content for TubeU’s first course was developed with the co-operation of TPA’s Tube and Pipe Producing Technology Council, a volunteer panel of industry leaders.
