TMK to supply high-tech pipes for Türkmengaz

TMK will supply Türkmengaz with 15 thousand tonnes of high-tech pipe under a gas turbine power plant project. The pipe will be used to transport natural gas from the existing gas fields in the country to Zerger gas turbine power plant, currently under construction in Turkmenistan’s eastern Lebap Region.

Under the contract, Volzhsky Pipe Plant and Chelyabinsk Pipe Plant will ship large-diameter high-strength pipes with external insulation coating. This collaboration is part of the National Program for the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry of Turkmenistan till 2030 and the program to boost bilateral trade between Russia and Turkmenistan.

The contract for the Zerger power plant project was signed between Sumitomo Corporation and Türkmenenergo. Three Japanese-made gas turbines with a total design capacity of 432 MW will be installed at the power plant, which is set to become the main source of electricity supply from Turkmenistan to neighboring Afghanistan.
