ThyssenKrupp Nirosta invests in Dillenburg

ThyssenKrupp Nirosta is adding a new skin pass mill, a central unit of its cold rolling facility in Dillenburg. The order has been placed with equipment manufacturer BWG Bergwerk-und Walzwerk-Maschinenbau GmbH and preparatory work on the EUR 18 million mill is underway. Scheduled to start production in early 2012, the new mill comes as a result of the market trend for stainless strip with higher yield strength and improved flatness. The initial mill, built in 1960 could not meet those requirements. The new mill will produce thicknesses from 0.20 to 3.50mm, improving strip quality and increasing productivity.
