As of 1 September the new apprenticeship year at ThyssenKrupp Steel AG has begun. The company has employed a total of 334 apprentices in 17 professions. ThyssenKrupp Steel AG thus presently trains about 1170 internal apprentices. In addition, about 250 apprentices from other companies will be trained. The training centers are located in Bochum, Duisburg, Dortmund, Kreuztal-Eichen and Finnentrop. In Duisburg, 220 youngsters will start out on their professional lives, 69 of which will be trained in commercial and 151 in technical/industrial professions. In Bochum, 56 young people will start their apprenticeships, three of which in commercial, and 53 others in technical/industrial professions. At the Dortmund location, 26 – namely two commercial and 24 technical/industrial – apprentices will be on board. In the Siegerland, there will be 26 new apprentices, four of which in commercial, and 22 in technical/industrial professions (in Finnentrop: a total of six, two of which in commercial apprenticeships). To facilitate the switch from school to professional life, all apprentices will again attend a one-week introductory course where they get to know each other and which will address above all the topics team work and communication.
