Thermo Electron Corp. (USA) has purchased Niton LLC (USA), a provider of portable X-ray systems for metals, petrochemical and environmental markets. Niton EDXRF offers non-destructive testing for a range of applications including, identification and analysis of metal and precious metal alloys, determination of toxic metals in plastics and environmental samples, lead paint screening and risk assessment, mineral exploration and mining, coatings/plating analysis.
