Thailand to implement regulation

Thailand has announced that the Committee on Label Control for Stainless Steel Products will soon make a final decision on implementing a regulation. The decision is expected to be released within the next couple of months. The committee will hear comments from concerned agencies, including the Thai Stainless Steel Development Association (TSSDA) and the Office of the Consumer Protection Board, which recently held a brainstorming session to collect opinions from manufacturers, consumers and academics. Dr Chatchai Somsiri technical board director at TSSDA said that those concerned parties agreed with the enforcement of label control regulation on stainless steel products. The regulation aims to solve the problem of substandard products and false claims on labels.
