Thai German stainless pipe plant closes

Thailand-based Thai German Products has shut down all production at its plant in the eastern province of Rayong, which would affect 5% to 7% of its annual sales. The shutdown was mainly due to a dispute between the company and its labor union, which had demanded bonuses and other benefits for the 2008 performance. The company has combined capacity of more than 50,000tpy of stainless steel pipes, tubes and sheets for industrial use.
