Texas refinery revamp

Cyntech Fuels of Chambers County LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cyntech Technology Inc., has awarded an engineering services and project management contract to Eagle-Pro Engineering Inc. of Beaumont, Texas, USA, for the renovation and construction activities related to the hydrocarbon processing facility located in Mt. Belvieu, Texas. The facility, an inactive refinery and tank storage farm, was recently purchased by a Georgia investment group for the benefit of Cyntech Fuels. “Returning this facility to production is our goal, and today’s agreement is one of a series of steps since the purchase that keeps us well on schedule,” said Frank Meyer, CEO of Cyntech Technology. Senior Vice President of Plant Operations, Charles Tovey, stated: “The refinery will process 25,000 barrels per day of low sulphur condensate which will produce LPGs, naphtha, diesel, and atmospheric gas oil.” The refinery renovation is estimated to cost approximately USD 25 million.
