Texas plastic upgrade

Contech Control Services has been awarded a turn-key contract for engineering, procurement, construction, and on-line commissioning services for the upgrade of distributed control systems at ExxonMobil Chemical’s BAPP plastics plant located in Baytown, Texas. According to Charles Gipson, President of Contech, the project uses Contech’s integrated EPC capabilities for the turn-key retrofit of DCS and PLC hardware and software in an operating polyolefins facility. Contech expects to complete this project over a two-year period beginning in September 2001.
