Teufelberger rope used in miners rescue

Teufelberger wire rope was used in the rescue of the 33 Chilean miners trapped in the San Jose mine in Chile. A manufacturer of special purpose ropes and straps, Teufelberger created a 1000m long non-rotating Evolution TK 16 rope to attach to the rescue capsule used to carry the workers out of the mine. The three ton rope was manufactured within 3 days of notice, air lifted to Chile and mounted on the winch. Teufelberger ropes are used in complex situations including special civil engineering, on oil platforms and on container loading cranes in harbors. The company’s non rotating high performance wire ropes are made in Wels and St. Aegyd.
