Tenaris secures a 4-year contract from Petrobras

Petrobras has awarded Tenaris a four-year contract for the supply of a comprehensive package of products and services for its flagship Buzios deepwater project. Production is expected to reach 2 million barrels per day by 2030, up from a current 0.7 million barrels per day.

The total volume of the contract exceeds 100 thousand tons of seamless and welded casing, in carbon, sour service and high collapse steel grades. For this demanding project, Petrobras has selected TenarisHydril BlueDock® weld-on connectors, as well as TenarisHydril Blue® Heavy Wall, Blue® Max and Wedge 623® premium connections, all with the environmentally friendly Dopeless® technology.

BlueDock® connectors with the new Automatic Anti-Rotational Keys (AARK) are designed to allow multiple automatic and hands-free activation, not requiring the use of special tools.

Tenaris will supply Petrobras using its Rig Direct® service model. As part of these services, Petrobras will use PipeTracer® technology, a digital solution that allows users to access products’ technical specifications, including running guidelines, and create digital tallies, eliminating the need for manual measurement, improving accuracy and simplifying operations.
