Technip, in a consortium with Al Jaber Energy Services, has been awarded a lump sum turnkey contract worth approximately USD 62 million by Dolphin Energy Limited for a new terminal to receive and distribute natural gas from Qatar to the UAE. The facilities will be built adjacent to the existing Taweelah Power Station. They will initially comprise three parallel gas receiving trains & associated equipment, metering facilities, control buildings & warehouse. Additionally, there will be interconnecting pipelines to the Taweelah Power Stations and to the existing Maqta-Jebel Ali Pipeline. The overall project, including the engineering, procurement and construction of the Taweelah gas receiving facility located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will be carried out by Technip’s engineering centre in Abu Dhabi, with the construction being handled by Al Jaber Energy Services. This is Technip’s first EPC contract with Dolphin Energy Limited. It is scheduled for completion during 2006.
