Tata Power to boost power in India

Tata Power Companies Ltd (India) are planning power projects totalling over 1000mw of new generation with an overall capital investment of over USD 1 billion to increase the company’s generation capacity to 3100mw by the year 2005. The 1000mw of new generation is part of Tata’s expansion strategy and will include the 500mw expansion of the Dahanu thermal power plant and the 500mw expansion of the Palghar thermal power plant, both located in Maharashfra state. Tata Power is a unified entity consisting of three companies, Tata Hydro-electric Power Supply Company, Andhra Valley Power Supply Company and Tata Power.
