Taihan Cable & Solution, one of South Korea’s largest corporations known for manufacturing electric wires and stainless steel products for electricity and communication, has significantly expanded its presence in the U.S. market by securing a series of major power grid replacement projects.
Taihan Cable & Solution announced on Jun. 18 that it has recently secured a total of won 130bn (USD 94M) worth of power grid replacement projects in the United States. This comes just three months after winning a USD 79.6M project to replace an aging power grid in the southeastern region of Florida at the end of March.
The company has achieved approximately USD 238.8M in new orders in the U.S. in the first half of this year alone and expects to surpass its record-high U.S. orders from 2022, which amounted to around USD 289.4M.
Taihan Cable & Solution has secured one ultra-high-voltage power grid project and two medium—to low-voltage power grid projects. The company will construct a 345kV power grid, worth about USD 32.5M, for a new semiconductor plant being built in New York and supply medium—to low-voltage cables worth USD 61.5M over three years to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in California.
Since Taihan Cable & Solution began its business in the U.S. in earnest in 2017, it has secured various projects such as new power grid construction and replacement of aging power grids in major cities.
