Valinox Nucléaire awarded two contracts
Vallourec's subsidiary specialising in the production of tubes for nuclear power plants, Valinox Nucléaire, has been contracted by AREVA to manufacture tubes for eight steam generators that will equip two EDF 1,300MW reactors.
The two contracts form part of EDF's programme, launched in 2011, to gradually replace the large components on its 1,300MW power plants.
Vallourec pipes for magnetic levitation train
Vallourec supplied seamless steel pipes to create a high road for the tracks for the Maglev-Cobra magnetic levitation train, being currently tested in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which levitates silently on magnetic tracks, at an average speed of 70 km/hour.
