Steel Dynamics have ordered the latest technology in Laser cutting – a Bystronic ByFibre 30-15 6Kw complete with extended tower loading facility. This purchase is expected to put Steel Dynamics at the forefront of laser technology.
Alfa Laval wins oil and gas order in the UK
Alfa Laval won an order to supply compact heat exchangers to an offshore platform in the UK. The order is worth approximately EUR 5.46M and delivery is scheduled for 2014. The Alfa Laval heat exchangers will be used for various duties, such as cooling, heating and condensation, in the processing of heavy crude oil on board the platform.

IFA prepares for UK new build

Major Milestone on Kinnoull Project
BP has completed a major milestone on its Kinnoull project in the UK’s central North Sea. The new 700-ton processing unit for the Kinnoull and Andrew Lower Cretaceous reservoirs was successfully installed on to BP’s Andrew platform on October 14, 2012.

TATA raises wire rod prices
TATA Steel is raising transaction prices for UK April 2011 deliveries of wire rod produced at its Scunthorpe Rod Mill. Costs will increase by a minimum of GBP 125, with some grades rising by as much as GBP 150 per tonne.
Nexans wins umbilical contract
Nexans has received a contract from Subsea 7 to design, engineer and manufacture 143km of static subsea electro-hydraulic control umbilicals for the Laggan-Tormore gas field development, 125km west of the Shetland Islands in the UK.
