TiTech PRO™ with SINTEF launch Trailing Shield® 2.0™
Leaders in auxiliary gas shield technology, TiTech PRO™ from Norway has after collaboration with the independent research center, SINTEF, launched the second generation Trailing Shield® called 2.0™ (Trailing Shield® 2.0™).
Trailing Shields® offer high quality welds
When welding titanium, stainless steel and other reactive metal pipework and sheet metalwork, it is important to prevent the welds from oxidising or coming into contact with any air during their welding and cooling periods.
Trailing Shields®, designed and manufactured by Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® ensure the weld stays under a protective argon gas coverage, while the hot weld metal is cooling, preventing it from oxidising on contact with air.

Titanium and stainless steels are chosen for their corrosion resistant properties and if they are allowed to oxidise during the weld cycle, expensive post welding cleaning techniques are required.
Trailing Shield® helps to avoid oxidation and expensive cleaning process.
Georgia Gascoyne, CEO at Huntingdon Fusion Techniques HFT® said: “Our range of Trailing Shields® are available in flat format for sheet metal welding or in curved format for welding circular items like tubes, pipes and tanks.
HFT trailing shields
UK-based Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Ltd (HFT) is now able to provide a wide range of trailing shields to fit any make of TIG (GTAW), MIG or Plasma (PAW) welding torch for manual or automatic welding.
