Industrial symbiosis converts steel gas to urea production

A consortium, led by the Dutch Research Institution TNO, has received an exceptional grant of EUR 21 million to investigate and develop the potential of industrial symbiosis to convert residual steel gas emissions into resources for urea production.

Multiphase, flow-induced vibration JIP set up

newsitemInternational energy consultancy Xodus Group and Dutch innovation company TNO will co-ordinate a Joint Industry Programme (JIP) with key industry players BP, Shell, Statoil, Total, Lundin, FMC Technologies and Aker Solutions, to carry out pioneering research into the role of multiphase, flow-induced vibration in the integrity of offshore piping systems.

New research stresses eco-efficiency of steel cans

Research carried out by the respected Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), has confirmed the eco-efficient performance of steel packaging. The study reinforces the results of a 2005 report, also undertaken by TNO, and demonstrates that almost 10 years later the steel can is still one of the best eco-performers and the most eco-efficient rigid packaging option by far.
