GE to upgrade POSCO-Thainox facilities

Last year, POSCO-Thainox announced an ambitious business plan to increase annual capacity for cold-rolled stainless steel over the next four years from 200,000 tons to 300,000 tons. POSCO has contracted GE’s Energy Management Services business to upgrade their facilities with minimal interruption to their current production lines.

JSL to acquire ThaiNox

ET, citing sources close to the company, has reported that Jindal Stainless Ltd is close to buying out Thailand’s largest stainless steel company ThaiNox for USD 325 million.

Arcelor sells Thainox

Arcelor has sold its entire stake (96%) in Thainox to Prayudh Mahagitsiri, a Thai industrialist, currently chairman of the board of Thainox and partner of Usinor/Arcelor since the creation of Thainox.
