Tata Steel to supply rail for linking two holy cit

Tata Steel will manufacture 60,000t of high-quality rail for a new high-speed line linking the two holy cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia. Steel for the project will be made at Tata Steel’s Scunthorpe, UK, plant before being rolled into rail in lengths of 25m both there and at the company’s plant in Hayange, Northern France.

TATA to invest in two Scottish plants

TATA Steel will invest GBP 8 million into one of its two Scottish plants, increasing its output by up to 50%. The company is set to unveil the plans for the Clydebridge plant in Cambuslang, Glasgow, which will boost its capability to produce high-strength steel plate. The plant carries out two processes, quenching and tempering, that strengthen steel plate.

Ceremony for Tata CAPL project

Tata Steel conducted the groundbreaking ceremony for the 600,000tns/yr continuous annealing and processing line (CAPL) project, at the Tata Steel works. This is part of the joint venture agreement to set up India’s first CAPL for the production of automotive cold-rolled steels at Jamshedpur signed between Tata Steel Limited and Nippon Steel Corporation in January 2011.
