Israel emerge as a gas exporter by mid-2020s
Israel has gone through an energy production revolution owing to discoveries of natural gas resources such as the Tamar and Leviathan fields over the past decade.
Noble expects gas build-up at Tamar
Noble Energy says all five of the Tamar field deepwater subsea wells offshore Israel are online, and collectively producing 300 MMcf/d of gas. Combined with the partners’ existing volumes from the nearshore Mari-B facilities, total current sales is nearly 500 MMcf/d, with levels expected to build to 1 bcf/d during the summer demand peak.
Cyprus eyeing Israeli gas
Cyprus plans to initiate talks with companies with a concession in the Israeli gas field of Tamar, but also with the Israeli government, for bringing natural gas to the island perhaps as early as next year, Commerce Minister Neoclis Sylikiotis said.
