Outokumpu is delivering 600 tonnes of Forta LDX2404 duplex stainless steel for renovating the Söderströmsbron in Stockholm, Sweden.

 Outokumpu has supplied three supporting 60-metre long bridge arches for a pedestrian and cycling bridge being built in Sölvesborg community in the south-east part of Sweden.

The European Commission has demanded an industrial remedy related to an Inoxum transaction by Outokumpu. And so the company has submitted two alternative remedy proposals.

Outokumpu will deliver stainless steel to Börger GmbH. The duplex will be used to build tanks required in biogas production. This order marks Outokumpu's first order for the newly launched duplex steel grade LDX 2404®.  The steel will be produced at the Outokumpu in Avesta, Sweden. LDX 2404® is the ideal choice for the tanks due to the high corrosion resistance and superior mechanical properties of the steel.

UHT of Sweden has received an order from Sandvik Materials Technology for a new gas mixing station. The new station will be installed at the company’s steel plant in Sandviken. The valve station is capable of managing all gas mixes and offers superior automation possibilities for more efficient control of the converter process. Northland Resources SA concluded a long term off take agreement with Tata Steel UK Ltd for 6 million mt of iron ore concentrate.

Sweden-based LKAB has applied for a permit from the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten, Sweden, to start test mining an iron ore body of 300,000mt in Mertainen, near Svappavaara.
