WorleyParsons awarded Chevron Lucapa Project

BP plans Central North Sea gas project

BP has announced the successful start-up of the Devenick gas project in the central North Sea, a subsea tie-back to Marathon Oil’s East Brae platform, which provides an important new source of domestic gas for the UK.

Subsea 7 to develop gas export pipeline

Subsea 7 S.A. has been awarded the Varg Gas Export Contract from Talisman Energy Norge AS for the development of a gas export pipeline at the Varg field, located 200 km off the Norwegian coastline. The contract is for the engineering, procurement, installation and construction of a 6km flow line and flexible riser system as well as the installation of associated subsea structures, protection systems, and tie-ins. Engineering and project management will commence immediately at Subsea 7's Stavanger office with offshore operations due to begin in 2013.

GE & Petrobras sign record contract

newsitemGE Oil & Gas has signed a record deal of nearly $1.1B (USD) with Brazilian energy company Petrobras. This is the world's largest subsea wellhead production contract.

Technip receives subsea contract

Technip has received an installation contract worth over EUR 20 million from EOG Resources, Inc., for the development of the Conwy field in the East Irish Sea. As per the contract, Technip will cover welding and installation of an 11.4km, 8in production pipeline and an 8in water injection pipeline

Nexans wins umbilical contract

Nexans has received a contract from Subsea 7 to design, engineer and manufacture 143km of static subsea electro-hydraulic control umbilicals for the Laggan-Tormore gas field development, 125km west of the Shetland Islands in the UK.

Canada: specialist subsea services

DOF Subsea has been awarded a contract by EnCana Corp. to provide specialist subsea services from its multipurpose support vessel, the Skandi Bergen on the Deep Panuke project, offshore Nova Scotia, Canada.

North Sea: Vigdis contracts

In connection with phase two of the Vigdis extension project, operator Statoil has awarded contracts to FMC Kongsberg, Saipem and Stolt Offshore.

Sandvik Materials Technology states that its newly developed duplex stainless steel tube grades are providing the ultra-high strength and corrosion resistance needed for the wellhead control systems for today’s enhanced oil and gas recovery methods.
