A new onshore wind power plant is expected to go online in March 2014 in Peru, near the city of San Juan de Marcona. Siemens has recently received an order from the Spanish wind developer Cobra Energia for the supply, delivery and commissioning of 11 wind turbines with a total capacity of 32.

Joe Kaeser, the CFO of Siemens AG since 2006, has been designated the new president and CEO of Siemens AG. A new CFO will be appointed very shortly. The current CEO Peter Löscher resigned his position as the CEO and from the Managing Board of Siemens AG by mutual consent.

Dragon Steel Corporation recently commenced production operations at the new Sinter Plant No. 2. This 3.8Mt/year sintering facility, which was supplied by Siemens Metals Technologies together with its consortium partner, CTCI Corporation, was built in the Taichung harbour area as part of a major campaign by Taiwan’s largest steel producer to expand into the flat-steel market sector.

Siemens Metals Technologies will be supply a Power X-HI type, five-stand, continuous tandem cold rolling mill and a heavy laser welding to Beihai Chengde Stainless Steel (Beihai Chengde), China, for the Beihai plant in Guangxi Province.
