Sandvik resumes loan agreement from Euro Investmen

Sandvik has resumed a loan agreement for the second time from The European Investment Bank. The new agreement amounts to EUR250 million and is based on Sandvik’s investments in Research and Development in Europe from 2012 to 2015.

Sandvik returns to production after fire

Sandvik’s wire production facility in Sandviken, Sweden has begun its first production runs after a major fire attacked the facility. The fire took place on 14 April and continued on into 15 April 2011, destroying equipment and damaging parts. The pickling plant within the wire production facility was completely destroyed and some of the wire drawing machines were damaged. No one was injured.  After a complete assessment of the damage, work began immediately on decontaminating, cleaning, repairing and, where applicable, replacing the plant.

Sandvik and Vasa Museum to save national treasure

The Vasa Museum and Sandvik are taking on a critical project to replace 5000 wrought iron bolts on the Swedish heritage vessel. A national treasure, Vasa capsized and sank in 1628 as it prepared for its maiden voyage; it was raised from the bottom of the harbour in 1961 and carefully restored.

Sandvik launches Kanthal APMT furnace rollers

Sandvik has launched new Kanthal APMT furnace rollers that significantly outlast rollers made from conventional alloys. Even in temperatures as high as 1250 degrees, rollers made from Kanthal APMT remain straight and rigid, allowing steel mills to increase productivity and quality

Heatherbrae gets a boost
