Saipem bags Al-Zour new refinery project in Kuwait
Saipem has received award notification from the Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation (KNPC) for Package 4 and Package 5 of the Al-Zour New Refinery Project (NRP), located 90 km south of Kuwait City, for a total amount of USD 1.3B.
The Al-Zour NRP will be one of the largest oil-refining plants in the world, with refining output capacity of 615,000 barrels per day.

The NRP has been divided into five major EPC packages.
Aker Solutions wins 1st order in offshore Mexico
Aker Solutions won its first order for a project offshore Mexico as it secured a contract from Saipem to supply umbilicals for the Pemex-operated Lakach deepwater natural-gas field.

International energy consultancy Xodus Group launched a global subsea engineering company in partnership with oil and gas contractor Saipem and mid and downstream oil and gas giant Chiyoda Corporation.The new organisation plans to challenge the largest tier-one subsea engineering companies for a share of the global market.
FPSO contracts for Saipem in Brazil, Angola
Saipem has been awarded by Petrobras a four-year extension to the Cidade de Vitória FPSO lease contract at Petrobras’ Golfinho Field, in Brazil’s Espirito Santo Basin, as well as a contract for modification and upgrading of the leased FPSO vessel.
Algeria: gas transportation system
Algeria-based oil company Sonatrach has awarded Saipem the EPC contract for gas pipeline GK3 lot 3, covering the engineering, procurement and construction of a gas transportation system.
Usan field umbilical contract
EMC, a subsidiary of Saipem, has awarded Nexans a USD 54 million contract to develop, manufacture, and supply umbilicals and associated equipment for the subsea development of the Usan field, off the coast of Nigeria.
Stainless tubes for GTL project
Sitindustrie Group, with its Swiss Co. Zwahlen & Mayr, has acquired an order to supply VSA Consortium, gathering Veolia Water, Saipem and Al Jaber, with 230tns of high corrosion resistance welded stainless steel tubes for the building of 3 evaporators for the Shell Pearl gas to liquid (GTL) project in Qatar.
North Sea: Vigdis contracts
In connection with phase two of the Vigdis extension project, operator Statoil has awarded contracts to FMC Kongsberg, Saipem and Stolt Offshore.
USA: Freeport LNG terminal
Technip, in joint venture with Zachry Construction Corporation and Saipem, a contract for a new LNG receiving terminal near Freeport, Texas, USA.
