Acknowledging that this is a technology for which home-grown expertise is essential for competitiveness, many countries are developing a powder metallurgy industry. As a result developments can be seen almost on a daily basis in every region of the world.
Cristal acquires
Cristal Global’s wholly owned subsidiary, Cristal US, Inc. announced on 17 October 2008 that it has completed the acquisition of International Titanium Powder, LLC (ITP), a private Illinois-based limited liability company specializing in the production of high-purity titanium and titanium alloy powders.
Tasnee to buy Titanium Powder
On 8 October 2008, Saudi-based industrial group Tasnee announced that its Cristal unit had won US regulatory approval for a takeover of US-based International Titanium Powder, a producer of titanium and titanium alloys, for USD 110 million.
