POSCO Board recommends new directors
POSCO held its Board of Directors meeting in February at the Seoul POSCO Center to select the directorship candidates. The Board recommended Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies President Ilsup Kim, Seah Law Firm Partner Wuyeong Seon, and Seoul National University Department of Economics Professor Donghyeon Ahn as Outside Director candidates, and POSCO CHEMTECH President Jinil Kim, POSCO E&C Vice President Yeonghun Lee, and POSCO Executive Director Dongjun Yoon as External Director candidates.

Korean President Geun-hye Park, who is visiting India as a national guest, held a summit conference with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and received approval for Korean enterprise to support the Indian government in constructing a steelworks in the State of Orissa.

POSCO begins operation of integrated steelworks
POSCO began operations of Southeast Asia’s first integrated steel works with the lighting of the 3 million ton furnace at Krakatau POSCO for the first time at a ceremony in Cilegon, Indonesia on 23 December 2013.
GE to upgrade POSCO-Thainox facilities
Last year, POSCO-Thainox announced an ambitious business plan to increase annual capacity for cold-rolled stainless steel over the next four years from 200,000 tons to 300,000 tons. POSCO has contracted GE’s Energy Management Services business to upgrade their facilities with minimal interruption to their current production lines.
