Total has signed an agreement with Sonatrach to launch engineering studies for a petrochemical project in Arzew, western Algeria, as part of the comprehensive partnership announced in 2017.

PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (CAP), through its wholly owned subsidiary, PT Chandra Asri Perkasa (CAP2), has achieved its milestone of technology selection for its second petrochemical complex to be built in Indonesia.

Kobe Steel Limited (Kobe Steel) has acquired a 44.3% equity share in Wuxi Compressor Co Limited (Wuxi), after reaching an agreement with parent company Wuxi Victor Group Co Limited. The investment will allow Kobe Steel to meet the increasing demand for process gas compressors in China. The acquisition of the Wuxi shares was made through Kobelco (China) Holdings Co Limited, Kobe Steel's China headquarters.

Foster Wheeler Ltd has announced that its UK subsidiary, Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd (FWEL), and its Singapore subsidiary, Foster Wheeler Eastern Private Ltd (FWEPL), have been awarded contracts by Shell Eastern Petroleum (Pte) Ltd for two basic design engineering packages (BDEP) associated with an ethylene oxide/mono-ethylene glycol (EO/MEG) plant and a significant refinery modification project in Singapore.
