What are nickel alloys?

Nickel-based alloys are a group of metallic materials composed primarily of nickel with the addition of various other elements. These alloys exhibit exceptional corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, and excellent mechanical properties. They are widely used in industries such as aerospace, chemical processing, power generation, and oil and gas. Nickel-based alloys can be tailored to meet specific requirements by adjusting the composition and heat treatment processes.

Why select nickel based alloys?

Sumitomo Metal Industries (SMI) is planning to spend USD 55.5 million to boost production capacity for high nickel and high chrome stainless boiler tubes at its Amagasaki plant in western Japan.

ATI Allegheny Ludlum, an Allegheny Technologies Inc. company, has announced that its proprietary alloy was used in a subsea flow line system for the Kikeh Field Development Project, offshore Sabah, East Malaysia. Allegheny Ludlum supplied over 1.2 million pounds of its new proprietary AL 2003™lean duplex alloy to Wellstream International Ltd, located in Newcastle, UK, who manufactured flexible pipe for this project.

Nickel rises to 19yr high

On the 9th of October, nickel prices rose to their highest in at least 19 years on the London Metal Exchange amid concern supply won't meet demand after inventories dropped to the lowest in more than two months.
