SIJ begins operations of Ravne Systems
SIJ (Slovenian Steel Group), a leading producer of stainless and special steels in Europe and Slovenia, has recently begun the operations of a new company, Ravne Systems d.o.o., established by a merger between Ravne Knives d.o.o., Sistemske tehnike d.o.o.
Metal Ravne completes investments
The successful operation of Metal Ravne, a member of the SIJ Group, is based on constant investment in development, technology and production. In recent months the company saw the completion of two important investments in the Steel Division, namely the modernization of the 45-tonne ultra-high power electric arc furnace (EOP/UHP – ultra high power) and the new 45-tonne vacuum ladle furnace (LD VD/VOD – ladle furnace and vacuum degassing/vacuum oxygen decarburization).
SIJ group establishes competency center
The SIJ Group has united the competencies of its Development Departments in Acroni, Metal Ravne and Elektrode with the knowledge of the Institute of Metals and Technology (IMT) and the Department of Materials and Metallurgy (OMM) at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering (NTF).
