New diamond technology to tackle drilling costs
Hardfacing specialist Cutting & Wear announced the development of a new thermally stable polycrystalline (TSP) diamond hardfacing material that can increase the life of drilling tools operating in highly abrasive environments by up to 10 times and cut the cost of drilling operations.
The announcement was made at the SPE IADC Drilling Conference and Exhibition being held in London.
IFA prepares for UK new build
Sheffield-based Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA) have signed a memorandum of understanding with AREVA for the supply of forged components for the new UK projects on the EPR nuclear reactors. The signing took place in Westminster, London 13th December in the presence of Philippe Knoche, Chief Operating Officer, AREVA, Humphrey Cadoux-Hudson, Managing Director, Nuclear new Build EDF Energy and UK Business Minister, Lord Marland.
